Your time.
Your information.
This policy explains how Vukasin Igic (“Earnlocker”, “we”) handles information when you use the Earnlocker app, browser extension, and website. Contact: vukasin.dev@gmail.com.
Account and sync information
When you sign in, we receive an account identifier and, when provided by your sign-in provider, your name and email address. We do not receive your Apple or Google password. We create account and device identifiers to authenticate your devices and keep them linked.
We store the content and settings you choose to sync: tasks and notes, flashcards and decks, journal entries, blocked website domains, earning rules, learning progress, focus session records, minutes earned and spent, and unlock session times. Device records may include a device name, device type, connection times, and a notification token when available. This information is associated with your account and used to provide the service.
Screen Time information (iPhone)
Apple’s Screen Time picker provides opaque tokens for the apps, categories, and websites you select. These picker tokens are stored on your device in the app’s shared container and used by Earnlocker’s Screen Time extensions. They are not uploaded to our sync server. The separate blocked-domain list that you enter in Earnlocker is synced so your devices and browser can use the same list.
We do not use Screen Time information for advertising, advertising measurement, sale to data brokers, or supervision of another adult.
Android: Accessibility Service and installed apps
On Android, Earnlocker uses Android’s Accessibility Service API to block the apps and websites you choose until you have earned time. You turn it on yourself in Android settings after an in-app explanation, and you can turn it off there at any time.
While it is on, the service checks which app is in the foreground and, in supported web browsers, reads the address bar to see whether the page’s domain is on your blocked list. If it is, and no unlock session is running, Earnlocker shows its lock screen. This check happens entirely on your phone. The service does not record, store, or send to us or anyone else the apps you open, the pages you visit, the text on your screen, or anything you type.
To let you choose apps to lock, Earnlocker reads the list of launchable apps installed on your phone. That list, and the apps you choose, stay on your phone and are not uploaded to our sync server. The blocked-domain list you enter is synced, as described above.
We do not use Accessibility Service information for advertising, advertising measurement, sale to data brokers, or any purpose other than blocking the apps and websites you chose.
Browser extension
The Earnlocker browser extension blocks the websites on your blocked-domain list until you have earned time. It uses the browser’s declarativeNetRequest API to send visits to those domains to Earnlocker’s lock page, and when a lock starts it checks the addresses of tabs that are already open so that open tabs on a blocked domain are locked too. These checks happen in your browser. The extension does not record, store, or send to us your browsing history, the pages you visit, page content, or anything you type on websites.
When you pair the extension with a code from the Earnlocker app, it stores a device token and a copy of your synced data (tasks, flashcards, settings, balance and unlock state) in the browser’s extension storage, and talks to the Earnlocker sync server over HTTPS to earn and spend time. Unpairing the extension, or removing it from your linked devices in the app, deletes the token and the local copy.
Journal entries and other content
Your journal entries, task notes, and flashcards are stored on the sync server so you can access them through your account. They are not published to other users. This is not an end-to-end encrypted service; do not use it to store passwords or information you do not want processed by a hosted service.
Purchases and subscriptions
If you purchase a subscription through the App Store, Apple processes the payment and manages billing. We verify Apple-signed subscription transactions on our server and associate purchase identifiers, product, expiry, renewal/grace status and refund or revocation information with your Earnlocker account to provide access and support. We do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple. The App Store purchase screen shows the price, billing period, trial eligibility, and renewal terms that apply to your purchase.
Android purchases through Google Play
On Android, Google Play processes Premium subscription payments and manages billing. We send Google Play an obfuscated Earnlocker account identifier to associate your purchase with your account. Our server verifies the purchase with Google and stores its purchase token, product, subscription state, verification time and expiry to provide Premium access and handle renewals, cancellations, payment holds, refunds and restorations. We do not receive your full payment-card number. Google Play shows your localized price, billing period, trial eligibility and renewal terms before you subscribe. Manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play.
Support requests
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you send. We use this information to answer your request and resolve problems. Please avoid sending private journal content or authentication credentials.
Website and waitlist
If you join the website waitlist, we store your email address, signup time, referral or campaign information, and any plan preference you choose to provide. We use these to manage the waitlist and understand interest in Earnlocker.
The marketing website uses Google Analytics and Meta measurement tools when enabled by the website’s consent and privacy settings. These tools may process browser, device, cookie, referral, and website-interaction information. You can change your measurement choice through the website’s privacy controls. Website measurement choices apply to the website. The iPhone app has a separate Meta SDK integration described below; the Android app does not include the Meta SDK.
App usage analytics
To understand where people get stuck while setting up the app, the Earnlocker iPhone app sends a small set of usage events to our own server: for example that the app was opened, that sign-in or setup screens were shown or completed, whether Screen Time and notification access were granted, how many apps, categories and websites were selected (counts only), and whether the subscription screen was closed or a trial was started. Each event includes a random install identifier created by the app, the app and iOS version, the time and your time-zone offset. Before you sign in, these events are not linked to an account; when you sign in, they are linked to your Earnlocker account. They never include your flashcards, tasks, journal entries, Screen Time selections or the apps and sites you use.
We use these events only to measure and improve Earnlocker. These first-party setup events are not sent to Meta or other advertising services. The separate advertising-measurement events described below do not include these setup details or your account content. Deleting your account deletes the usage events linked to it.
iPhone app advertising measurement (Meta)
The iPhone app integrates the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure app installs, app opens, verified free-trial starts and paid subscription conversions, and to understand the effectiveness of Earnlocker advertising. Events may include the subscription product, Apple transaction identifier, actual purchase amount and currency, an SDK-generated app-scoped identifier, and technical information such as the app version, device and operating-system information, network information and SDK diagnostics. Meta may process SDK crash information to maintain its SDK.
Advertising identifier (IDFA) collection, automatic purchase logging and codeless debug logging are disabled. This version does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. Meta receives the system’s current tracking-authorization status and uses its no-consent processing path when permission has not been granted. Apple’s SKAdNetwork provides privacy-preserving attribution subject to Apple’s reporting limits. We do not send Meta your Earnlocker account identifier, email, name, journal, tasks, flashcards, selected apps or sites, Screen Time information, or our first-party setup events. See Meta’s Privacy Policy for information about its processing and privacy choices.
How information is shared
Information is processed by the hosting and infrastructure providers needed to operate Earnlocker, by sign-in providers for authentication, by Apple for App Store purchases and system services, by Google for sign-in, Google Play purchases and Android system services, and by email providers for support. Website measurement providers and Meta’s iPhone SDK process the information described above for their respective purposes. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service from abuse. We do not sell your account content, Screen Time data, or Accessibility Service data.
Storage, security, and retention
Account data is stored on hosted servers and cached on your devices. Communications with the production sync service use HTTPS. We retain account information while it is needed to provide the service. Deleting an account removes its associated records from the active database; backup copies, where present, may take longer to expire. We may retain information where needed to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Your choices
You can edit your content, revoke linked devices, change blocking settings, and revoke Screen Time or notification permissions in iOS settings. On Android, you can turn off Earnlocker’s Accessibility Service and notifications in Android settings. In the app, choose Settings → Delete account to delete your account. Email us for help accessing, correcting, exporting, or deleting your information, or to remove your waitlist signup. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google Play; manage it with the store that bills you. You can also request account deletion online.
Children and personal device use
Earnlocker is designed for individuals managing their own focus and device usage. It is not marketed as a service for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Any subscription-management provider added to the app will be reflected in this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before release.
